Fintech · 2023An AI-powered multi-currency digital wallet for freelancers, digital nomads, and SMBs in Latin America — building financial inclusion where traditional banking fails.

Wedi is a multi-currency digital wallet designed for freelancers, digital nomads, and small business owners in Latin America. It enables users to manage money efficiently, perform low-cost transactions, and protect their finances through secure, AI-powered tools.
The product addresses systemic financial challenges in the region — offering a modern, accessible alternative to traditional banking that is expensive, slow, and opaque for millions of people.
Latin America faces significant financial instability — high unemployment, low inclusion, and severe currency depreciation of up to 33.75%. Traditional banking systems are expensive, slow, and opaque, leaving users unable to protect their wealth or access reliable financial services.
Users needed a way to protect purchasing power against depreciation of up to 33.75% through multi-currency management.
Traditional banks are expensive, slow, and opaque — leaving freelancers and SMBs without access to reliable financial tools.
Historically fragile financial systems meant users needed strong transparency and education signals before adopting a new platform.
The project followed a complete design lifecycle: stakeholder and user interviews, competitive benchmarking, persona development, and journey mapping to build a clear problem statement and MVP roadmap.
Task flows, wireframes, and UI explorations fed into interactive prototypes tested against real users. Final delivery included high-fidelity mockups, a design system, and detailed documentation handed off to development.
The solution was a user-centered digital wallet combining financial management, currency protection, and transaction capabilities into a single intuitive platform. A multi-currency wallet shields users from devaluation; low-cost local and international transactions replace expensive bank transfers.
Transparent transaction flows, clear information architecture, and educational elements help users make better financial decisions — while a secure, AI-enhanced infrastructure ensures reliability and trust in markets where both are scarce.

The result was a modern, scalable digital wallet tailored to the needs of Latin American users — a seamless, trustworthy financial experience that combines usability, transparency, and functionality. Wedi positioned itself as a competitive alternative in the digital finance space for an underserved market.
